Ukrainas asuv Zaporizhzhia tuumaelektrijaam (ZNPP) on sattunud droonirünnakute värske rünnaku alla, mis viis selleni, et ÜRO aatomivalveagentuuri juht kutsus taas mõlema poole sõjaväelasi üles hoiduma tuumarajatiste ründamisest.
Kagu-Ukrainas asuv ZNPP on suurim tuumaelektrijaam Euroopas ja üks suurimaid maailmas. Vene sõjavägi vallutas selle 2022. aastal ja on sellest ajast alates tehase üle kontrolli hoidnud. Rünnaku eest vastutavad ametnikud ei ole seda kinnitanud, kuid Venemaa väidab, et see oli Ukraina.
“See on Zaporižžja tuumaelektrijaama ees seisvate tuumaohutuse ja -julgeoleku ohtude suur eskaleerumine,” ütles peadirektor Grossi.
“Sellised hoolimatud rünnakud suurendavad oluliselt suure tuumaõnnetuse ohtu ja peavad viivitamatult lõppema,” lisas ta.

X-i käsitlevas seotud postituses paljastas hr Grossi, et ZNPP peareaktori tõkestusstruktuuride vastu tehti vähemalt kolm otsest tabamust, nagu kinnitasid kohapeal asuvad IAEA eksperdid. Praegu ei ole märke kriitilise tähtsusega tuumaohutus- või -julgeolekusüsteemide kahjustamisest kohapeal.
IAEA meeskond teatas aga, et sihikule on võetud üks objekti kuuest reaktorihoonest, kus hoiti seire- ja sideseadmeid. Samuti väidavad nad, et on näinud Vene vägesid haaramas teist lähenevat drooni reaktoriüksuse 6 katuse lähedal ning kuulnud kogu päeva jooksul kohapeal plahvatusi, suurtükituld ja tulistamist. Vähemalt ühest ohvrist on teatanud IAEA meeskond, kes väidab, et leidis sündmuskohalt verd, kuid Vene sõjavägi pole seda kinnitanud.
Hr Grossi ütles, et tema kohapealne meeskond ei ole täheldanud mingeid struktuurilisi kahjustusi süsteemidele, struktuuridele ja komponentidele, mis on olulised jaama tuumaohutuse või -julgeoleku jaoks.
“Kuigi 6. ploki kahjustused ei ole ohustanud tuumaohutust, oli tegemist tõsise intsidendiga, mis võis kahjustada reaktori hoidlasüsteemi terviklikkust,” ütles ta.
Ta hoiatas, et tuumarajatiste ründamisega seotud isikutest ei ole mingit kasu ning kutsub seetõttu mõlema poole sõjaväelasi üles edasistest rünnakutest hoiduma.
“Nagu ma olen korduvalt öelnud, sealhulgas julgeolekunõukogus ja IAEA juhatajate nõukogus, ei saa keegi mõeldavalt kasu ega saada sõjalist või poliitilist kasu tuumarajatiste vastu suunatud rünnakutest,” ütles ta.
“Tuumaelektrijaama ründamine on täielik ei. Pöördun kindlalt sõjaliste otsustajate poole palvega hoiduda igasugusest tegevusest, mis rikub tuumarajatisi kaitsvaid aluspõhimõtteid,” lisas ta.
