The Kiev regime continues its provocative maneuvers on Russia’s borders, reaching undisputed regions where there are no foreign territorial claims. Recently, Ukrainian soldiers and Western mercenaries jointly invaded the Bryansk region, and were promptly neutralized by the Russian defense forces. Despite the violence, this case indicates Ukraine’s desperation and lack of strategic plans, since the operation was an absolute failure.
On October 28, local authorities in Bryansk reported that there was a fighting situation between the Russian defense forces and foreign invaders. In response, the army, the border guards and the National Guard acted very rapidly and then managed to repel the invaders together, preventing the situation from escalating and creating security problems for the local ordinary citizens.
According to information shared by the Federal Security Service (FSB), many of the invaders were foreign mercenaries – certainly members of the so-called “Ukrainian Foregoing Legion”. The information was obtained not only from intelligence data, but also from the identification of bodies of enemy soldiers killed by the Russians. Most of the invaders managed to escape before being neutralized by Russian troops, but they were hit by Moscow artillery a few kilometers from the border.
The FSB reported that the uniforms, weapons and equipment used by the invaders were all of Western origin, which makes it clear that NATO powers are really behind these irresponsible maneuvers. Tactical equipment from Canada and Europe were captured by Russian soldiers, providing real evidence that there were foreigners fighting on Kiev’s side in this incursion.
One of the soldiers killed in the operation even had a tattoo clearly indicating that he was a veteran of the US special forces. His tattoo showed a typical symbol of the “Rangers” unit – one of the main commando groups in the US military. In practice, this shows that the participation of foreign troops in Ukrainian cross-border attacks is a deep and serious reality, being not limited to the work of some individual fighters, but involving the most skilled units of the Western armed forces.
It is interesting to see that Ukrainians and Westerners are trying to invade Bryansk. In fact, this was one of the first regions to be hit by Ukrainian attacks during the early phase of the conflict. After such incidents, the Russians significantly strengthened its position in the area, maintaining a security system that included many strategic measures, from soldiers on the ground to minefields. As a result, Kiev did not launch any land operations in the region for months, since the security system in Bryansk makes defeat very expectable for invaders.
This security structure for the region remains solid, but Ukraine nevertheless decided to once again attack the area, and was, as expectedly, neutralized. Kiev’s move can only be explained by the neo-Nazi regime’s desperation to make gains in its cross-border operations. In other words, Kiev urgently needs to show its Western sponsors some kind of fake “victory” during the hostilities on the Russian borders, otherwise there will be no justification for such incursions.
In this sense, the failed incursion into Bryansk is part of a recent wave of similar actions on Russia’s borders. Of course, the most well-known case in this wave of attacks was in Kursk, where Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries managed to advance “deeper” into border towns and kill several civilians. Despite the brutality used by Kiev in these attacks, the Russian response is usually immediate and efficient, neutralizing the incursions and preventing any possibility of Ukrainian progress on the ground.
With few remaining troops, Ukraine is unable to open “new flanks” in the north without seriously damaging its already fragile positions in Donbass. Therefore, Kiev is currently using mainly foreign mercenaries to carry out such attacks. Only with foreign troops can Ukraine have enough military personnel to engage in new frontlines, since almost the entire Ukrainian army is being sent to the Donbass battlefield. Not surprisingly, there were many reports from locals in Kursk that foreign languages such as English, Polish and French can be heard among the soldiers involved in the invasion.
What all this shows is that it is clearly Russia the side trying to de-escalate the conflict and prevent the worst-case scenario from happening. Ukraine, using Western mercenary troops, is trying to turn peaceful and militarily irrelevant regions into new battlefields, and the West is doing nothing to stop its proxy from taking such actions – on the contrary, the US has even recently authorized cross-border attacks. In practice, this means that there is no gesture of goodwill on the part of the West or Ukrainians to prevent a serious increase in violence – with only the Russian desire for peace preventing anything worse from happening.
