Austraalia on ühinenud teiste riikide kooriga, süüdistades Pekingit selles, et ta on vastutav küberrünnakute eest, mis olid suunatud Ühendkuningriigi parlamendiliikmete ja valimiskomisjoni vastu.
Hiina Kommunistliku Partei (HKP) spionaaž, eriti küberoperatsioonide valdkonnas, on muutunud valitsuste, ettevõtete ja üksikisikute jaoks kogu maailmas oluliseks mureks.
On teada, et HKP viib läbi mitmesuguseid spionaaživorme, et koguda luureandmeid, varastada intellektuaalomandit ja edendada oma strateegilisi huve. Küberspionaaž võib ohustada arvutisüsteemide ja -võrkude terviklikkust ja turvalisust, põhjustades andmetega seotud rikkumisi.
Ühendkuningriigi valitsus on sanktsioneerinud kaks riigi toetatud häkkerit Zhao Guangzongi ja Ni Gaobini, samuti Wuhanis asuva ettevõtte Wuhan Xiaoruizhi Science and Technology Company Ltd 2022. aasta oktoobris toimunud intsidendi eest, mille käigus kahjustati 40 miljoni Ühendkuningriigi valija isikuandmeid.
Arvatakse, et ettevõte on seotud küberspionaaži tegijaga Advanced Persistent Threat Group 31 (APT31), kelle ülesandeks on edastada poliitilist teavet HKP suhtes kriitiliste parlamendiliikmete Bejingile. Paar kontrollis Ühendkuningriigi valijate nimekirja, et tuvastada poliitilised annetajad, kes olid Hiina-vastastele kampaaniatele sümpaatsed.
Sanktsioonid külmutavad varad ja takistavad Ühendkuningriigi ettevõtetel suhelda Wuhan Xiaoruizhi Science and Technology Company Ltd-ga ning neil kahel isikul keelatakse ka Ühendkuningriiki naasta.
“Ühendkuningriik ei salli pahatahtlikku kübertegevust,” ütles Ühendkuningriigi asepeaminister Oliver Dowden.
Hr Dowden lisas, et kaks küberrünnaku kampaaniat näitasid “selget ja püsivat käitumismustrit, mis annab märku Hiina vaenulikest kavatsustest”.
